Efficient wrap-around case packing with reduced corrugated material

Case Packers – Wrap Around

Product Overview

Engineered for Your Production Needs

The WACP Series Automatic Wrap-Around Case Packers provide an efficient end-of-line packaging solution by forming the case directly around the product group from a flat corrugated blank.

Unlike conventional case packing, where products are loaded into a previously erected case, the WACP first automatically collates products into the required pack pattern. A flat blank is then picked from the magazine, positioned around the grouped products, folded and closed using hot melt glue to create the finished package. This approach combines product collation, case forming, loading and sealing into a single automated system. The reference system uses servo-controlled blank pickup and forming, automatic product loading, flap folding and hot-melt application.

The WACP Series can produce multiple packaging styles, including closed cases, open cases, trays, shelf-ready packaging and display packaging, providing flexibility for both transportation and retail presentation.

Systems can be configured for kraft, micro-corrugated or corrugated board, allowing the packaging material and case design to be selected according to product protection, strength, presentation and material requirements.

A motorized blank magazine automatically supplies flat corrugated blanks to the forming section. Blank pickup can be performed using a servo-controlled vacuum system before the blank is accurately positioned for product loading and forming.

Products are automatically separated and collated into the desired configuration before case forming. The system can accommodate single-row or multi-row product infeed, with application-specific product handling systems used to create different pack patterns.

The WACP Series is suitable for a broad range of rigid and semi-rigid products including bottles, cans, jars, cartons, containers, pouches and other packaged products. Reference applications include PET and glass bottles, cans, cartons, jars and flexible refill pouches.

Production speeds of up to 25 packs per minute can be achieved depending on product dimensions, case format, corrugated material and pack configuration.

Because the package is formed directly around the collated product, wrap-around technology can provide a compact packaging process with precise case dimensions and efficient use of corrugated material. The system is particularly well suited for high-volume beverage, food and consumer-product packaging applications.

The WACP can operate as a standalone system or be integrated with product conveyors, lane dividers, inspection equipment, print-and-apply labelers, palletizers and stretch wrappers as part of a complete turnkey end-of-line packaging system.

The COMBO models offer a compact L-bar sealer and shrink tunnel in one frame with high reliability which makes it a very popular product

Simple and easy to use machine with a user friendly interface to cover a vast range of packaged products: cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, industrial product. Single or multipack products are manually loaded on the working table. The ergonomic sealing arm covers the heating element which creates the perfect seal. The motorized conveyor eases the product transfer into the heat chamber for the ultimate package. The integrated heat tunnel features a top, bottom and side heated air flow, twin blowers, teflon mesh belt that are all controlled with the SATU digital keypad
